Our studio is built around the tattoo process with our client’s comfort in mind. The studio has a dedicated client area for hand washing and touch-less sanitation, beverages from some of our favorite local sponsor companies, and snacks to help during your time at our studio.
While the lobby is open for the public and walk-in clientele, the lounge is where clients can relax, prepare for their appointments, and join our WiFi in a dedicated space while both they and the artist prepare. We always recommend our clients to sleep well and eat well before their appointment and to bring snacks, drinks, and creature comforts. However we wanted to dedicate an area for this and our clients as well to ensure the well being of anyone and everyone that visits Aura IV.

The Triangle as an ancient symbol has, through the ages, come to symbolize creativity, ascension, manifestation and change, all leading to a higher perspective. Triangles are found in ancient symbolism and runes dating back to the earliest civilizations in Egyptian Architecture, Greek Language, and Modern Design. The Triangular concept of unity, and creative importance can be seen in our own space representing AURA IV.
As symbolic as the triangle seems to be in culture and in nature, it is a less common format for artists. Much like our previous shows, we wondered what kind of artistic solutions would be unlocked if we used the power of geometry to shift our creative visions? We hope to answer these questions and bring out the creative energy once again with the Prizm’s art show, which will showcase fine artwork from local and nationally renowned tattooers who enjoy creating in various mediums.
No guidelines or rules will limit the subject matter, our triangular format art show aims merely to maintain uniformity in presentation.
Aura IV has worked to establish our gallery and events towards a creative space where everyone is welcome. Please join us for an evening of creativity and community for our next big group exhibition!
We have a rotating calendar of community focused events here at Aura IV. AURA and its collectors share a passion for art and creativity. The first of it’s kind, our studio has functional gallery space dedicated to this community and aims to bring together the tattoo and fine art culture of Austin.
Our many events have helped bring artists from across the country together in a unified effort to showcase skillsets local to Austin Artists, and nationally awarded tattooers; from our rotating gallery featuring Oil Paintings, Sculpture, Digital Mediums, and everywhere in between.
Charity events like our recent partnership with P.Ink! and F*ckCancer have used the same energy to help create positive impact through tattooing, amongst many of the charity events we have been a part of in recent memory.
Aura IV has quickly become the epicenter for our diverse Austin culture for high quality art and tattooing, where atmosphere and presentation are key.
Engagement for our events is key, and we encourage everyone take a look at previous events, upcoming art shows; or simply stop in to see our studio and rotating art gallery. Thank you for being a part of Aura IV
Explore Our Events and Digital GalleriesJames Hall is an Austin Native born in 1991. James grew up with a strong discipline for drawing and having fun in the form of creative expression, usually drawing from animation. Around the time of high school, James no longer focused on art when sports amongst other young interests conflicted; until senior year after moving out on his own to finish high school in 2009 and pursue adulthood. It was at this time he was reengaged to art through various digital media classes, and when those skills, (graphic design and illustration for example), called for physical drafting, the passion was reborn. James left the pursuit of graphic design for tattooing in 2011 and landed an apprenticeship that would later fully immerse him in the art world. James saw tattooing as a way to make a career as a working artist, and years later has created, launched, and branded, two of the top studios in Austin Tx by the age of 28. AURA IV will serve as perfected concept where fine art and tattooing merge seamlessly to reflect the creative community of Austin Tx; paying homage to his roots and giving back to the local community through art both in tattooing and painting. The following is a collection of work from James Hall
Raised between Ireland and Spain, Charles became a successful businessman and entrepreneur at the early age of twenty-one. In 2008 with the economic crisis he lost everything, which meant he had to refocus his life. Ready for a new start and a different approach to his career, he decided to embark in something he truly loved and turn it into something he could live on and enjoy it. Therefore, he asked himself; “What did I ever do for fun that could be of any value to make a living?”. The only answer he could find was painting.
Now, he had not permitted himself to take this path previously being one of the reasons that his father, a talented oil painter, had never managed to make a living exclusively with his art. However, for Charles’ it was different this time, he had lost it all, so he considered he had nothing to lose. Without an oil painting sold he began to take an interest on his friends’ tattoos. Initially they would ask him to draw something and then he would see it on them a few days later, his art depicted forever on their skin. The concept was very powerful, what better way of getting appreciation for your art than people having it on their body forever? This alone started Charles on a journey that changed his life!
I was born in Austin Texas in 1985 to two young artists. My parents wholeheartedly encouraged me to follow my passion for art ever since I could remember. My creative childhood let me to the heart of Austin culture, and in 2006 I started my tattoo journey on 6th St, at a shop called Custom Tattoos from the Soul. My time on 6th Street in the “ classic tattoo” scene was an extraordinary learning experience for me. I learned how to be diverse and create a body of work as diverse as the people. This is where I honed my skills and came into my own style.
My favorite things to tattoo are colorful illustrations including nature and floral tattoos, realistic animals, portraits, etc.. I also enjoy a lot of high detail tattoos such as mandalas and micro tattoos. Other styles and ideas are always welcome with a consultation, as I work towards containing my path of diversity in my work! Tattooing has been such a gift to me, and I look forward to working on beautiful pieces on more beautiful people!
My roots are planted deep within the underworld of Heavy Metal music. The dark side of existance. As with thought being so submerged in my art, spawning as a child…I drew on everything. In fact, my Mother recently unveiled a white shirt i wore as a three year old child. Though its mostly faded, i could still make out the head of a demon, that i had drawn on the front of the shirt with a marker, that has faded to a dull yellow. I must have used a dark green. It resembled the demon head on Slayer’s “Root of All Evil” tee shirt from the 80’s. I think i was on to something.
I began my tattoo career in the mid 90’s, apprenticing under The Wild Man of Borneo, AKA Nortorious Ed Potter, right here in Austin, Texas.
Over the years, I have done many album covers, shirt designs, stage banners, logo designs and tattoos for metal bands around the Earth. I call it “Skingraving”!! I specialize in dark art designs, in the mediums of and not limited to Tattooing, Paintings, Drawings, Digital painting
Hi, my name is Robyn.
I didn’t pick it. I am new to Austin, again. Born and raised in Jersey because that’s where my ancestors from Italy landed and planted the flag in the ground, so try not to judge me on it. I have a million hobbies because I get bored easily. I am married with 2 sons who are pretty cool to be around. I am an introvert and I’d rather observe than participate (it’s an Enneagram 5 thing).
I studied Interior Design at FIT in NYC as well as business and hospitality. I never imagined I’d be a tattoo artist, but here we are. I officially started my apprenticeship in 2009 but had been learning all the tattoo things since 2000 (thanks husband). I quit tattooing in 2013 and opened an organic juice bar and cafe which I sold in 2017 and went back to tattooing and really started to love it once I found my style.
If you didn’t already know, my style is black and white dainty tattoos. I do lots of flowers and stuff. I am open to new ideas so please send them my way, as long as they fall in with my style. I don’t do color tattoos (even a little bit) or cover-ups (because they just don’t work). I love hearing about my clients lives and I look forward to working with you on a beautiful new piece of art.

I am primarily self-taught although doing short runs in two different apprenticeships, including one in Downtown Austin on 6th St. I’m 23 years in as a tattooer now. Attending some of the industries greatest conventions and festivals has rewarded me with plenty of knowledge, helped me stay relevant and brought in many awards for my illustrative work in color. I enjoy many aspects of tattooing. Large scale Illustrative color including Japanese are the most fun to me as well as Illustrative black and grey. (when the clients skin tone or sun activity require it.) I’m also keen on the occasional celebrity and animal portraits.
Good energy gravitates towards me and I enjoy spending full days tattooing one client while learning about their lives. Although I like most genre’s of music, I lean towards the intensity and energy of techno (EDM) and have for 28 years. It’s like a continuous flow of coffee for me. I dig both sci-fi and cyberpunk genres. There’s something very real about them to me. A truer reality, like a fork in the road of humanity leading to one of two potential outcomes. I experienced Star Wars and Mad Max at critical time in my early development! The occasional painting happens under pressure and deadlines since participation is huge to me but my primary focus is and always has been tattooing. I’m new to YouTube which is also tattoo equipment related and plan to expand that as a hobby. Its been an incredible run so far and I’m stoked to keep it going. Please find me at TYATX.COM 🍻
